About Daguerre
What do you do at MPIC?
l lead and direct my sales team to meet and exceed sales goals while growing our customer base. I have been the account manager for the Central MS for four years and the Southern half of Mississippi for over three years. I work at creating and maintaining positive, long-term relationships and generate new sales with existing
and potential customers. My biggest goal is explaining the mission of our
company to our customers and showing how doing business with MPIC helps to support that mission.
What are your credentials/education/past experience, for working in your position?
I started at MPIC in 2011 as the customer service representative and worked in that position for over four years. I transitioned into the role as account manager in early 2016. I really enjoyed getting to meet and visit with the customers I had grown to know over the phone and email. Being in customer service prior to sales acted as a stepping stone in helping to build the relationships that I still have and maintain today.
What is something people in your industry have to deal with that you want to fix?
We are here to provide hope and opportunity to those who may not have been given that before becoming incarcerated. By providing jobs to learn a skill and trade we are also providing soft and life skills that will help them to find employment upon their release.
What do you like about working at MPIC?
We are given the opportunity to somewhat be mentors to our inmate work staff. They need someone that they can trust and know is there to give them a hand up and an opportunity to better themselves. I like that we can help them to create a new path to walk down and show them there is a better way. I am all about trying to break the cycle.
What’s your background?
I am originally from the Delta but moved to Pearl when I was young and have stayed in the Central MS area. I started off working in banking, I worked at Regions bank from 2006 – 2009. When I moved to Forest in 2009 I begin working with Community Bank. Finally, I started with MPIC in 2011. I currently live in Downtown Brandon with my two children.
Favorite quote:
“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to
come.” (Proverbs 31:25)
What are the values that drive you?
My key values are being trustworthy and honest. I want our customers and inmate work staff to know that if I say something I will make sure I see it through.
What are your favorite Podcasts/Books?
This is something that I need to work on and find time for reading.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
My stress release is the gym, I love gym classes that keep me energized and motivated. Most of my weekends are spent watching my son play baseball. I really enjoy being outside so if we have a free weekend you can find me working in the yard, at the pool or boating with my family during the Summer.
