About Debbie

What do you do at MPIC?

I process accounts payable invoices, check month-end inventory and supervise warehouse operations.

What are your credentials/education/experience for working in your position?

I have been doing accounts payable since 1984.  I have worked for a steel fabricator & erector so I have knowledge of metals and the components used; also we did the delivery of our products by truck.  I have worked for a sewing plant and distributor of goods we made as well as purchased items.

What is something people in your industry must deal with that you want to fix?

The biggest problem with offenders getting out of prison is to be able to work so they can support themselves and their families.  Realizing people make mistakes and have paid for those mistakes and need to be able to return to society.

What do you like about working at MPIC?

It has allowed me to interact with offenders and find out the reasons they got into trouble and realize the biggest reason is economic. I try to encourage them to learn as much as possible to help them succeed when they do return to society.

What’s your background?

I grew up as a military dependent and lived from Ohio to Miami and San Francisco to Hampton, VA. I was the pricing lead for Southeastern Grocers.  Living in a lot of different parts of the country has given me an understanding of the diversity of cultures in our country.
