About Korey

What do you do at MPIC?

I am the shop supervisor. I monitor the offenders and make sure they are completing their assignments.

What are your credentials/education/experience for working in your position?

I worked at CCA for a short period, left there and worked on the oil rigs for about 4 years until I injured my knee. Then, I worked at Fayette hardware where I became the store supervisor for 4 years. After that I got a job at MPIC where I am still working today. I have 2 degrees- an associate’s and a bachelor’s and I am working on my third which is a master’s in education.

What is something people in your industry must deal with that you want to fix?

Having all great workers understanding that MPIC deal with (offenders) as majority workers, but trying to target the lesser charged offenders to bring out better production because of self-motivation and they want to work.

What do you like about working at MPIC?

I like the ability to learn new things every day as well as facing new challenges that the job presents. I also like that the job allows me to meet new people and learn about their unique perspectives.

What’s your background?

My hometown is in Fayette, MS. I have managed a Hardware Store. The neighborhood I grew up in left a strong impression on me growing up. It instilled in me good morals and a general respect for everyone around me. My favorite food is shrimp pasta.

What are the values that drive you?

Life itself drives me. Knowing that I have 3 small kids that look up to me and having a good support team has taught me the importance of working and striving for something greater than myself.

What are your favorite Podcasts/Books?

I am a fan of music period. If it sounds good, I will listen.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I enjoy spending time with my kids, whether it be taking them places or relaxing at home.
